Our Way of Life

Craft comes first is more than a motto. It’s a way of life in every action we take. Experimenting with lip-smacking fires. Concocting flavor-rich appetizers and entrees. Craftsmanship is a celebration of 23 years of excellence we pursue every day here in Colorado Springs. Here’s to the next 23. Pull up a barstool. This is definitely going to be fun.

Brewing Philosophy

We believe that as brewers we need to embody the spirit of Shokunin. The Japanese word shokunin is defined as ‘craftsman’ or ‘artisan,’ but such a literal description does not fully express the deeper meaning; shokunin means not only having technical skills, but also implies an attitude and social consciousness…the shokunin has a social obligation to work their best for the general welfare of the people.

Inspired Brews

Tradition with Innovation

Inspiration finds us in many forms most often we find it in the breweries that have stood the test of time and have consistently crafted the finest of beers, often times for many hundreds of years, we love tradition, but aren’t scared of innovation as well.

Striving for Happiness

We are always striving to find the next beer that people will anxiously await similar to our Winston Smith’s barrel aged barley wine and the Johnson’s Farm sour-mash raspberry ale. Friendly competition with other brewers keep us on our toes as we search for the perfect beer. The one that embodies shokunin and brings happiness.
